In this 2-day workshop you will learn the techniques necessary to adjust any stringed instrument for optimal playability and tone. Taught by master luthiers Dale & Tyler Unger with special guest Greg Voros in some workshops. Greg is a master repairman and also is the repair shop manager at Gruhn Guitars in Nashville, TN.
This course explains the mechanical operation of the guitar and all other stringed instruments, including all types of guitars and bass guitars (acoustic & electric). Learning the craft of setting up a stringed instrument is ideal for every musician or luthier. A better understanding for your instrument will always come in handy. NGI provides each student with their own individual workstation and all necessary tools, all you need to bring one of your favorite guitars or basses.
I would be happy to discuss any additional details over the phone at your convenience. Please feel free to contact us at (570) 856-1324. One half of the cost of the course is required as a down payment in order to reserve your place.
Greg joined the Gruhn Guitars repair shop in 2005 and has kept things running smoothly and efficiently since becoming Repair Shop Manager in 2012. He came to Nashville from New York with a lengthy background in repair and setup of a broad range of electric and acoustic instruments. He also has extensive experience in customer service and fine-tuning instruments to personal taste.
